Used Glass Bottling Lines
Glass bottling lines are used for wine, beer, spirits, water, soft drinks, juices, edible oils and other products where glass is preferred for product protection, returnability or presentation. The layout depends heavily on whether bottles are new one-way containers or returnable bottles.
Returnable and One-Way Glass
Returnable glass lines may include decrating, decapping, industrial bottle washing and empty-bottle inspection before filling. One-way glass lines normally start with depalletizing and rinsing. Downstream equipment can include fillers, corkers or cappers, labellers, inspectors, case packers, shrink wrappers and palletizers.
Filling and Closure Selection
Still wine and non-carbonated liquids can use gravity, slight-vacuum, high-vacuum or volumetric filling depending on the product. Beer, sparkling wine and carbonated drinks require counter-pressure filling. Closure equipment may handle natural cork, mushroom cork, crown caps, screw caps, Stelvin or other formats.
What to Verify
Important checks include bottle diameter and height ranges, neck finish, included format parts, filler valve type, closure heads, labelling stations, bottle-transfer components, conveyor design and the condition of washers or inspection systems where present. Glass containers impose different handling loads from PET and require stable transfers throughout the line.

Common OEMs in glass bottling include Krones, KHS, Bertolaso, GAI, MBF, Fimer, Kosme, SACMI, Sidel and other specialist manufacturers. A used line may contain several brands, so compatibility and actual operating history are more important than a single nameplate.
