Used Wirehood and Muselet Machines
Wirehooders apply and tighten wire cages, also called muselets, over mushroom corks on sparkling wine, Champagne-style products and cider bottles. They secure the cork against internal bottle pressure and are usually installed after corking.
Machine Configurations
Wirehooding can be performed by standalone rotary machines or integrated within corking and finishing monoblocks. Some systems also orient the wirehood, place a top plate and control the twist or tightening sequence.
What to Check Before Buying
Confirm bottle neck dimensions, cork and muselet specifications, wirehood feeding method, number of heads, production direction and nominal speed. Inspect tightening heads, grippers, feeders, starwheels, guards and control system. Verify which bottle-format parts are included.
Applications
These machines are used on sparkling wine, Champagne-style wine, cider and other pressure products closed with mushroom corks.
